Active Learning Activities

Active learning activities are tailored to specific learning outcomes and content. They incorporate one or more of the evidence-based strategies. Structured to expose their theoretical underpinnings, the activities can be used by practitioners and researchers alike.

Interdisciplinary

Students collaborate to create a historical timeline for a country they will soon be travelling to.

Psychology Social sciences

Teams explore Gardner's Theory, present one component, summarize presentation content, and conduct a self-assessment.

Students learn to build a conceptual model describing a Mechanics-based situation and practice mathematical problem-solving.

This activity has students challenge the literal meaning of a text (ie. the supernatural explanation for a murder).
