About

Educational Developers Special Interest Group (EdDev SIG)

SALTISE has built a powerful community of educators with the common interest of enhancing practice and sharing expertise. To further this collaboration, a Special Interest Group of Educational Developers (instructional designers, pedagogical councillors, curriculum specialists, etc.) has been established with the goal of creating a dynamic network of educational specialists in higher education.

This community is also an opportunity to network, build collective knowledge and create some inter-institutional projects.

Our members are comprised of professionals working in educational development from CEGEP’s and universities across Montreal and surrounding areas.

The Educational Developers Special Interest Group (EdDev SIG) meets once each semester via Zoom to discuss a range of relevant pedagogical topics and issues, share expertise, exchange resources, collaborate on projects of common interest, solicit peer feedback on projects members are working on, have candid conversations about all aspects of the work, and more!

Interactive Think Tank

Building Impactful & Sustainable Faculty Development Models
– This session will engage participants in a discussion about their current strategy for faculty development (goals, design features, communication strategy, & impact assessment). Ed Dev SIGs will learn from each other by sharing ideas and considering new approaches to inform faculty development practices.

*During the Mind Meld session, participants will be invited to join various discussion tables, each focused on a different topic. The session is facilitated by a member of the Ed Dev SIG community who acts as lead discussant at the table. The session might take the form of a brief presentation of a project they have worked on and would like to share, or an idea they are considering and would like feedback on from the community, etc. The goal of the Mind Meld session is to provide a forum for exploration, exchange, and brainstorming for specific projects brought forth by members of the Ed Dev SIG community. The Mind Meld will last 45 minutes and then each Table Leader will share a 5 minute synopsis of their discussion to the whole group.
