Background: Jason has been a teacher in the Biology Department since the Fall of 2017. His Master’s thesis focused on cell signaling in insect immune responses, and after graduating, he remained in the laboratory as a research assistant to explore some additional projects; namely, signaling pathways in single cell injuries and identifying apoptosis-protective genes. During this time, Jason taught Science, Math, and Physics at two private high schools in the Montreal, and with a growing interest in teaching, he moved to South Korea to teach academic and scientific writing to undergraduate students at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology and later, Grade 10-12 earth science, biology, and anatomy and physiology at Global Prodigy Academy. In 2017, he returned to Montreal and began working in the Biology Department at John Abbott College where he enjoys teaching anatomy and physiology. He has participated in several projects focusing on the use and implementation of technologies in the classroom, including the use of virtual reality in tutoring, branching scenarios in virtual case studies, and more recently, developing educational video games. In 2019, Jason began working with Saltise as a Fellow. He has worked on MyDalite, CourseFlow, and OpenLabyrinth, and contributed to Saltise Conferences.
