Conference Student Poster Session

In considering the place of student research at SALTISE – especially research by students at the cegep level or in early (non-graduating) undergraduate levels – we recognize that promoting and supporting student learning calls for a process that differs from the standard conference peer-review process.

Accordingly:

1. A limited number of student posters that describe strong research efforts will be displayed in a parallel forum to the regular peer-reviewed conference posters (Details of the date and time will be available soon in the official program). This year we hope to have 15-20 participants in the SCSPS.
2. Topics can extend beyond the typical SALTISE focus on education, but they must involve research involving original-data collection and analysis (no review-style posters will be considered).
3. SCSPS posters will not be approved through the full SALTISE peer-review process but will instead be reviewed and accepted by a faculty member at the student’s institution. This faculty person will be responsible for ensuring  the quality and authenticity of the research presented on the poster.
4. A faculty person will transmit the following information for each approved student poster by May 8th to cwhittaker@dawsoncollege.qc.ca (the poster itself should not be sent):
   • Name(s) of the student authors
   • Title of the poster
   • Name(s) and institutional information of the faculty responsible for approving the poster
   • A brief statement describing the context and content of the research displayed on the poster (maximum 100 words).
5. Student posters selected for display at the 2026 SALTISE Conference will be finalized no later than May 15^th. In the case that too many faculty-approved posters are submitted, final selection will be based on balancing the number of posters from contributing SALTISE institutions to promote diversity.

• • A listing of the SCSPS posters (title, student author name(s), and approving-faculty-member name(s)) will be added to the online conference website however no abstract information will be listed.
  • SCSPC posters will not appear in any post-conference publications or proceedings.
  • The production of the posters is the students’ responsibility with the support of their approving faculty member.
  • Students are expected to be present at the conference for the poster session and to engage with conference-goers through an informal Q&A process.
  • The 2026 SALTISE Conference Student Poster Session Details will be sent with confirmation emails on May 15^th.
