2026 SALTISE Lifetime Achievement Award – Carol Hawthorne (Concordia University)
Carol Hawthorne has played a key role in advancing educational development and strengthening institutional collaboration within the SALTISE community. She brings a wealth of experience in facilitated faculty development, with her connection to SALTISE beginning when she moved into the role of Curriculum Developer at Concordia University. Working closely with then CTL Director Rob Cassidy (2017–2019), she supported faculty across disciplines in new program development while helping to expand and deepen CTL’s collaboration with SALTISE. In the following years and until 2023, Carol would serve as Interim Director of the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL), where she led a wide range of faculty development initiatives. She developed professional learning opportunities for educators at all career stages through workshops, bootcamps, online self‑directed modules, faculty interest groups, and more. Throughout this period, she ensured that the relationship between CTL and SALTISE not only remained strong but evolved into a sustainable and enduring partnership.
