Interactive Session
Session I-04 - Topics: Advancing Inter-professional Education at Dawson; Aligning Values in Educational Development Work
Advancing Interprofessional Education at Dawson College: Mapping Shared Competencies and Objectives Across Seven Medical Technology Programs to Implement an Embedded IPE Program.
This presentation highlights findings from our ECQ project at Dawson College, examining competency overlap across seven medical technology and social service programs. Using competency mapping, shared faculty-identified objectives, and Canadian Interprofessional Health Collaborative IPE domains, we developed tailored IPE pathways for each discipline. This work supports coordinated learning to enhance collaboration, role clarity, and readiness for team-based care. Attendees are encouraged to engage throughout by asking questions at any time as we share our process, challenges, and successes.

Aligning Values and Actions in Educational Development Work
As educational developers, we routinely help faculty align learning outcomes, assessments, and teaching strategies. However, do we make equally explicit the alignment between our own values and approaches? In this interactive session, we share two educational development initiatives from different universities to surface how values shape design choices. Through guided reflection and peer exchange, participants will articulate their values, examine how those values show up in practice, and identify concrete ways to enact and communicate them more intentionally across contexts.
