Pedagogical Support and Innovation
Patti’s work exemplifies leadership in pedagogical innovation, particularly through her support of faculty and her contributions to evidence-based, technology-enhanced teaching and learning.
In recent years, Patti has played a key role in developing and disseminating innovative pedagogical resources. She is the designer and lead contributor to Vanier’s Generative AI resource hub, which provides educators with practical guidance on AI literacy, ethical use, and AI-resistant assessment design. She has also co-developed the Online Curation and Social Annotation (OCSA) initiative, a project that equips teachers with tools and strategies to foster critical thinking, collaboration, and digital literacy through an active learning approach. These contributions reflect a sustained commitment to equipping educators with concrete, research-informed practices that directly enhance student learning.
Beyond resource development, Patti actively mobilizes knowledge within the academic community. She regularly facilitates professional development workshops, including recent ECT (Engaged Community of Teachers) sessions on integrating generative AI into the classroom, where she guides educators in adopting emerging technologies responsibly and effectively. Her work also extends to collaborative communities of practice and contributions to SALTISE initiatives, where she supports peer learning and pedagogical exchange.
Patti’s impact lies in her ability to bridge innovation and practice. By empowering educators, fostering collaboration, and advancing thoughtful integration of technology, she has significantly strengthened teaching and learning both within Vanier and across the broader SALTISE community.
